The XLRI mails the candidates' registered addresses the hard copy of their XAT score card. The scorecard should be kept safe until the admissions process is complete, candidates are instructed.Students who pass the entrance exam are invited for group discussions and personal interviews.

Be aware that while the other affiliated colleges accept the results of other entrance exams like the CAT, XLRI solely accepts admissions based on XAT marks.

Who may take the XAT exam?

Since its commencement, the eligibility requirements for the XAT have stayed constant and are thought to be the most straightforward of any exam. Candidates for the XAT must hold a bachelor's degree or its equivalent with at least three years of study behind them. However, there is no requirement for the minimum score needed to enter the XAT. Students in their last year may also apply for the XAT.

But XLRI also lays forth program-specific requirements for applicants.

Describe XAT

The prominent Xavier Labour Relation Institute (XLRI) in Jamshedpur, India, administers the prestigious national-level MBA entrance exam known as the Xavier Aptitude Test (XAT). With a long history spanning more than 70 years, XLRI has been given the task of conducting XAT in order to determine the most suitable applicants for its prestigious management programs. XAT scores are highly valued and recognized by over 600 other prestigious B-schools in India in addition to being accepted by 11 XAMI member institutes, 83 associate institutes, and one of the most difficult entrance tests.

The Xavier School of Management, also known as XLRI, has always been a popular choice for aspirant students looking to enroll in management courses. XLRI, regarded as one of India's best business schools, has developed continuously to keep up with the industry's evolving needs. The PGDM HRM and PGDM BM, which are its two premier full-time residential programs, are just two of the many executive and certificate programs that XLRI now offers in addition to its flagship full-time residential programs. These programs are specifically created to meet the demands of working professionals, ensuring that they keep on top of the latest trends while juggling their dedication to their careers. Exec-FPM and BM are two famous programs that let executives pursue their academic goals while continuing to be actively involved in their business lives. With a rich history and dedication to quality, XLRI has made strides in developing managerial and leadership skills.

The brightest minds in the nation strive to enroll in the programs provided by XLRI and associated institutions. Every year, more than 90,000 candidates take the exam.

What is the XAT exam's structure?

The complexity and nature of the questions make the XAT somewhat challenging, similar to other highly competitive tests. The XAT was conducted using paper exams up until 2017. However, XAT has been a computer-based test since 2018. It includes five sections and lasts for 205 minutes.

  • Ability to speak and logical/analytical reasoning
  • Ability to think quantitatively and interpret data
  • Making Decisions General Information
  • Article Writing
  • The XAT had one essay topic and 100 objective questions

The XAT 2023 exam features a slightly modified format with more questions and a longer time allotted for answering them. The exam is broken up into three sections, each with a time limit of 175 minutes, 5 minutes, and 30 minutes, respectively. Each erroneous response has a negative marking of 0.25 in Part I, and there is a penalty of 0.10 for each question that is not attempted. The GK segment, however, receives no points reduction. Your GK score has a significant impact on whether you are admitted to a business school even if it doesn't factor towards the final XAT percentile. Additionally, the essay is only assessed after the individual has been chosen for an interview.

Syllabus for the XAT 2024

Candidates must study according to the exam format and question kinds of the previous year's papers because the XAT has no set syllabus. The XAT exam format and question types have changed over the past few years.

The purpose of the test is to evaluate the candidate's aptitude for reasoning, data analysis, interpretation, and math. Additionally, the candidate's capacity for judgment and general awareness are assessed. The following are crucial items to keep in mind regarding the XAT syllabus:

➤ Mathematical aptitude primarily focuses on algebra, geometry, and arithmetic. Critical reasoning, inference-based questions, reading comprehension exercises, sentence corrections, etc. are all examples of verbal and logical abilities.

➤ The decision-making area includes moral conundrums, administrative problems, and other situational queries.Since there is typically no similar section on other admission exams, this section is exclusive to the XAT.

➤ The GK portion has an emphasis on both static general knowledge and recent events in the disciplines of economics, politics, etc.

➤ The majority of essay topics are broad or abstract in character. These are also based on contemporary problems and happenings.

The XAT score is the entry point for admission to 11 member universities and more than 150 other B-schools in the country. Aside from XLRI, major MBA colleges that recognise XAT 2022 results include XIMB, IMT, XIME, IRMA, MICA, TAPMI, BIMTECH, The Great Lakes, FORE, LIBA, and others. Before completing the form, candidates must meet the XAT eligibility criteria. See the list of XAT B- schools below.

Candidates can choose to take XAT coaching classes if it is more convenient for them. In order to finish the syllabus and have enough time to practice mock exams, candidates should devote roughly six to eight hours every day to their studies. Yes, students will need to find a balance between studying for the exams and taking practice tests.
